We picked Chloe from a litter of 3 siamese kittens, she was the only seal point, the rest were blue points. She was the one we liked the best. We got her from a breeder in Skelton when she was only 3 months old.
She joined Frosty, an 18 yr old grey and white half siamese female cat, and Kirk, a lively black and white young 1 yr old male cat.( Frosty and Kirk both have memorial sites on this website)
She was very scared at first, and didn't want to get off our knees, but within a couple of days she was running around with Kirk, and cuddling up to Frosty. Frosty wasn't too impressed, but Chloe continued to cuddle up to her, and used to wrap herself around Frosty's neck, like a scarf!
Chloe was always very friendly and affectionate, with a very loud purr, and meow. She was the cat that was everyone's favourite when they came to visit, and my 2 children's favourite too, even when we went on to have another 4 cats in later years.
She never reacted angrily or aggressively to any new animal that she met.She never hissed or growled at them. Whenever we got a new kitten, she would just go over and smell it, and meow to say hello. She used to sit in the rabbit hutch with the rabbits, and go over to the dog next door, and look at it through the fence, even though it used to growl at her.
The only time she used to be annoyed was when we were cutting her nails or giving her tablets, she had a special type of meow that meant 'stop doing this or I will bite you', and she used to give us this warning twice, and then she would bite us! It was funny! She has also been a good samaritan to other cats in trouble.
When she was 14 yrs old, we got an oriental bicolour called Memphis, who was scared of us, and wouldn't come out of his box, but as soon as he saw Chloe he jumped out, and went straight over to her, and she let him follow her around, and sit with her, and she definitely helped him to settle in.
Another time, one of our cats called Simba managed to get under the bath when we were getting a new bath put in, because there was a temporary hole in one of the bath panels. He went right under the bath, following a floor board, about 2 metres away, and we had no way of getting him out. We tried banging on the floor above his head, putting out tuna, shouting for him, but nothing worked. We did not know what to do, then we thought he might follow Chloe out if we put her in front of the hole. We could have had 2 of them down there instead! But she meowed her very loud meow, and he came straight out! Even yrs later, she used to look for the hole in the side of the bath, as she still remembered!
She was the smartest of all the cats I have owned. She could jump up and open doors by pulling the handle down, and when she was sick of sleeping in bed with my daughter, Sarah, she once managed to push the bolt on the door along to escape! Another time she knocked a hi fi off the shelf onto Sarah, to wake her up, so she could get out!
She used to like to retrieve things, but only if they were long and stick like. Once she used to play with a chip, but it fell to bits!
The day after she was spayed, she pulled her own stitches out, never seen a cat do that before!
When we were in the attic once, she climbed up the ladder and joined us up there. When it was time to go out, we looked for her, and couldn't find her at all. She had managed to go under some floorboards and was wandering around the perimeter of the attic. Sarah shone a light and Chloe came towards it, and Sarah put her arm down a hole, and pulled her out! They both went in the bath together after that, as they were covered in fibre glass fibres!
My white cat Isis, was her best friend, and Chloe used to let Isis suck her fur, and pretend that she was her kitten. After about ten mins she would get fed up with it though, and give her a kick!
Her favourite foods were tuna and ham, sliced. She used to paw my face and meow for tuna, as she knew that I used to give them a tin every night, and she would do this when it was near bedtime. She seemed to know when it was tuna time. She was so excited and meowed very loudly when I got the tin out every night.
I miss her not being there when I give them their tuna now.
She used to love meeting people, and even purred at the vets! She got best pet pedigree at a show in Hessle 2 yrs running, because of her lovely friendly nature. We were so proud.
She was an indoor cat, but I let them go out in the garden with me in the summer. She used to love the sun, and used to sit on my sun lounger, or chair.
She was a healthy cat throughout her long life, but had a few health scares, as they do. When she was 1 yr old she had a bad reaction to some flea powder, and foamed at the mouth, and was sick, and I had to stay up all night with her.Another time she had a pussy eye, and we found a pine needle from the xmas tree was under her eyelid, it was only visible when we pulled her lid down. When she was 12yrs, she sometimes used to walk round in circles, but it didn't bother her, or us, and the vet said it was probably a touch of cat dementia. It just added to her character!
She got a bit arthritis in her back leg when she was 14 yrs, and we gave her painkiller for it when needed, and a heated bed which she loved. Apart from this she was very healthy. When she was 15 yrs, she started to lose weight, and one day she didn't want any food, not even tuna, which I knew was a very bad sign for her. She also seemed to want to sit down, but kept standing up again, as if she wasn't comfortable. Me and Sarah took her to the vets, and they did blood tests to see if there was anything wrong that could be sorted out with tablets, but nothing showed up. Her bowel felt hard, so she might have had a tumour, so we decided that the kindest thing would be to put her to sleep. We stayed with her, and it was over very quickly and peacefully. She had a private pet cremation by a lovely crematorium called ' Forget me not'. They are very kind and respectful, and I recommend them. They even emailed me pics of lovely cat caskets, and I now have her in one on my wall unit.
I still miss Chloe, and wish I could cuddle her one more time, but I have loads of photos and memories, and at least she had a long and happy life. I bet her cat friends miss her too, she was really special to every one who met her.
RIP Chloe, you are with Frosty, Kirk and Portia now.

Through veils of peace may you ascend
To promised planes above
Where comfort shall await you
In those summerlands of love.
Although my grief is deep and raw
Although my pain is great
I know that you are still with me
I know that you will wait.
For in God's time we'll meet again
Of this I am quite sure
I loved you so much on this earth
In absence even more.
Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

To Shirley
I just want to send you my thoughts and prayers. What a truly lovely memorial you gave your beloved Chloe. I can tell by the way you write about her, that she was truly amazing cat.
It's nice to know that there are some pretty remarkable people out there that give their unconditional love to their pets. What an honour to have such a beautiful caring puddy cat as your Chloe and how bless she was for having a truly caring owner.
God bless you.
Love Lisa xx
Gorgeous Chloe
Chloe, I remember when i first saw you at your breeders and asked if we could have you. You were so tiny and white with little dark points. I was dying to hold you. When you came home you would sleep in my bedroom with me, even though you learnt how to open the door and escape! You had the most wonderful nature I have ever known. You loved everyone and all your sisters and brother you came to know. You were always the most special to me though. Beautiful inside and out. Every new addition that came to the house you welcomed. You became like and adoptive mother to them and they all loved you so much. I am so glad me and your mam got to hold you when you had to go to sleep, it was so quick and peaceful but devastating at the same time. Your mam has a beautiful casket now though so she can keep you close forever. You were simply the best Chloe.
Sleep tight now

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an
animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our
special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of
food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left
behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his
eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group,
flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been
spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and
you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your
life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

Precious Love
The agony is so great...
and yet I will stand it.
Had I not loved so very much...
I would not hurt so much.
But God knows I would not want to diminish
that precious love...
By one fraction of an ounce.
I will hurt...
And I will be grateful for that hurt
For it bears witness to the depth of my love.
And for that I will be eternally grateful.

I said a prayer for you today
and know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart
although he spoke now word,
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked him to send treasures
of a far more lasting kind,
I asked that he'd be near you
at the start of each new day,
to grant you health and blessings
and friends to share your way,
I asked for happiness for you
in all things great and small,
but it was for his loving care
I asked for most of all.
